The Area
Talland is a hamlet set above the three small beaches and rocky coves of Talland Bay. The South West Coastal Path is on our doorstep and affords wonderful cliff-top walks; 2 miles east to Looe or 1.5 miles west to Polperro. It is a perfect base for walking, cycling, golfing and fishing or just relaxing in these tranquil surroundings.
Nearby Polperro is a picture-postcard village with quaint cottages tumbling down the hillside to the small harbour, once renowned for smuggling. It has many cosy pubs and small restaurants and its was recently featured in a Daily Telegraph article "Polperro pips Polzeath" as a wonderful place to have a holiday home. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/main.jhtml?xml=/property/2008/09/20/psoutheast120.xml
Looe is a pretty port from where boat trips and fishing expeditions can easily be arranged. It boasts excellent restaurants and pubs and a range of good shops including the fishmarket.
Within a few miles are several stunning golf courses, which welcome visitors, including: Looe, Lostwithiel, and the dramatic cliff-top courses of Carlyon Bay and Whitsand Bay.

Local Attractions
A little further to the west lies Fowey, with its picturesque harbour, boat moorings and sailing centre. Further inland, near St. Austell, is the Eden Project, whose futuristic 'Biomes' contain plants from around the world and which is the most visited tourist destination in Cornwall.
The National Trust houses and gardens of Lanhydrock and Cotehele are easily reached and open all year round, while further afield are Trelissick and Trerice.
The Newquay area is home to the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay Zoo and the vibrant surf scene at Fistral Beach.
Other major Cornish attractions within easy reach range from Tintagel and Pendenis Castles to disused tin mines, steam railways, theme parks and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.
With so much to do in the area, there really is something for everyone.
